My name is Nicole Wanunu. I am sixteen years old. I was born on August 16, 1994 in Verona, New Jersey. I attend John Dewey High School. I live with my mother, father and younger twin sisters, Fiona and Raphaela. My hobbies are skiing, dance and photography. My religious affiliation is “Jew-ish.” I have worked and volunteered most of my time with the Kings Bay YM-YWHA.
My name is Natalie Zolotareva and I am 17 years old. As a first generation American I have a mixed identity; one that stems from my Belarusian roots yet has grown in the opportunity rich soil that has come to be my home, America. I am half Jewish and half Christian, raised with respect and understanding for all religions and cultures. Growing up in the city of immigrants, Brooklyn, the respect and understanding of other cultures that I was brought up with enabled me to look beyond a person’s initial appearance to their character. Studying in Midwood High School, I have excelled in math and science classes and hope to pursue a career in the medical field. My dream is to either work with special needs children or with the elderly, applying a homeopathic approach to medicine as a doctor. Coming from a family of doctors and educated professionals in the medical field, I was raised with the understanding that my goal in life is to acquire a better understanding of the world and the skills in order to help leave the world a little better then how I found it. Through this course of study and even this program, I am well on my way to changing the world.
My name is Elizabet Shvets and I was born in Long Island and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I am attending Leon M. Goldstein and I am in my junior year. Throughout my lifetime I have encountered many experiences and challenges that I have learned to utilize. The Young Peace Builder’s Program is a program to which I have devoted my skills and acquired new ones in. I am very involved in my community and school. I am a member of the Model UN, Key Club, and high school yearbook. I am also highly involved at the Kings Bay YM-YWHA. This organization has aided leadership and confidence growth within me; and the growth process is still ongoing. I have high ambitions for myself in the future and I will use my success to help causes I believe in and worthwhile programs such as the Young Peace Builder’s Program.
