Natalie Zolotareva
My name is Natalie Zolotareva and I am 17 years old. As a first generation American I have a mixed identity; one that stems from my Belarusian roots yet has grown in the opportunity rich soil that has come to be my home, America. I am half Jewish and half Christian, raised with respect and understanding for all religions and cultures. Growing up in the city of immigrants, Brooklyn, the respect and understanding of other cultures that I was brought up with enabled me to look beyond a person’s initial appearance to their character. Studying in Midwood High School, I have excelled in math and science classes and hope to pursue a career in the medical field. My dream is to either work with special needs children or with the elderly, applying a homeopathic approach to medicine as a doctor. Coming from a family of doctors and educated professionals in the medical field, I was raised with the understanding that my goal in life is to acquire a better understanding of the world and the skills in order to help leave the world a little better then how I found it. Through this course of study and even this program, I am well on my way to changing the world.
