Seda Bektas

sedabektas1First Impression: The first time I was told that we were going to meet with a group of other kids around our age for a discussion of each of our religions I was very nervous. I didn’t expect the real outcome by any percentage. This is actually a good outcome because I was expecting to be thrown at with legitimate questions and very serious like pupils. Yet when they entered in from the doorway I immediately sensed a warm feeling. They each shook our hands and our conversations began from then on. It’s actually a good experience for all of us because kids our age never have the opportunity to meet up like this and discuss current events as we do. It’s also very advantageous for us because we become very experienced over time and can stand up on stage and speak with full confidence and high self-esteem. I hope to see more improvements in our bonds with our fellow friends and am truly anticipated for the future events that follow us.

Biography: My name is Seda Bektas, I was born on April 15,1996 in Columbus, New Jersey. I have two older brothers who are quite the hassle. I have two wonderful parents who give up anything just to satisfy their children. They really are the best parents in the world. They put away all their worries and doubts just to save us and make us well educated people. Growing up for me was basically just rolling in the grass right outside my house and at the end of the day enjoying one fine cherry Popsicle Growing up in Columbus was just the perfect scenario you would have expected. Our town was quite small and everyone would know each other, plus the fact that my Father owned a small little diner right beside the highway road gave people some kind of sense in who belonged to who. Everyone in school would also know each other and people would have easy times getting along. But now since I am away in a boarding school in New York I really get to know how much I’ve taken for granted. I really do miss the farmlands back in New Jersey. I am now a freshman and hope to get the most out of this project.
